2013 Roses:
Big Momma™
Big Momma™ is a big pink, very fragrant hybrid tea rose. it makes a nice cutting rose and has performed well own root in our trials. It has a high petal count and ctrong scent of roses and fruit.
Cinnamon Dolce™
Cinnamon Dolce™ has a unique novel color, great exhibition form and very strong fragrance. The disease resistance is very good for the west coast.
Cloud 10™
Cloud 10™ is a pure white climbing rose that has a very full flower similar to the English Roses. It is hardy to zone 6 (in zone 5 it would be more like a large shrub). It will do great everywhere, but especially in the South and all areas troubled with black spot.
Dark Night™
A new well tested novel rose for the West Coast, Dark Night™ has held up to thorough trials and has proven to perform well on its own roots. The color is dark velvet red, almost black, with a cream yellow reverse. The flower form is classic with a high centered bud and a cuplike opening.
Eyeconic® Melon Lemonade
Melon Lemonade is one of two new additions to the Eyeconic® series in 2013. Its overall flower effect is orange to apricot, with a red ring around the inside of the petals. Flowers finish light pink with the red blotch turning to purple. Excellent performance in Western US, unfortunately not resistant to black spot, not recommended for the East, South, and Midwestern parts of the country.
Eyeconic® Pomegranate Lemonade
Eyeconic® Pomegranate Lemonade is a miniature rose with a large flower and terrific novelty. It maintains the distinctive blotch characteristic of the Hulthemia roses at all stages of flowering. It is extremely floriferous with a non fading color. A great new addition to the Eyeconic® series. Excellent performance in Western US, unfortunately not resistant to Black spot, not recommended for the East, South and Midwestern parts of the country.

Francis Meilland® is a tall Hybrid Tea rose with a very large bloom, good exhibition form and strong fragrance. It is a multiple award winner in Europe for disease resistance as well as esthetics. It is one of the first Hybrid Tea roses to win the prestigious ADR contest in Germany. 2013 AARS winner.
Look-A-Likes® Hydrangealicious
Look-A-Likes® Hydrangealicious is a unique new rose with densely flowered clusters of small red blooms with a white eye. The habit is also quite nice since it remains low to the ground, requiring little maintenance. This is not your typical rose. Its first flush of blooms is stunning, but it does not repeat bloom well. Plant it towards the front of mixed borders where other flowering perennials will cover it later in the season.
Look-A-Likes® Phloxy Baby
Look-A-Likes® Phloxy Baby is a Polyantha Hybrid from the hybridizer of The Knock Out® Rose. It displays extremely good disease resistance and is more upright than most Polyantha roses. It would be perfect for use as a hedge. It attracts bees and is hardy to zone 5.
Popcorn Drift®
Popcorn Drift® is a mutation of the popular Peach Drift®. It represents a new color in the series. Popcorn Drift® starts out yellow and fades to cream white, sometimes suffused with light pink. It is hardy to zone 5 and possibly 4 pending results from further testing. The overall impression is yellow and cream; reminiscent of buttery popcorn.
Raspberry Cream Twirl™
Raspberry Cream Twirl™ is the first striped climber with a true modern rose exhibition type flower. It has excellent disease resistance and is winter hardy to zone 6.
Tequila Gold™
This new shrub rose is a mutation of Tequila™, one of our most popular new landscape rose. Like its parent, it produces a symphony of bright color non stop through the season. The bright golden color will shine as a bright spot in any modern garden. Can be grown as a specimen or a hedge for stronger effect. Great for landscaping in dry hot climates, and also with good performance on the East Coast. One of the very few good yellow landscape roses.

Dee-Lish®
Dee-Lish® is a tall Hybrid Tea rose with an old fashioned flower and a very strong fragrance of verbena and citrus. It has a large, deep pink non-fading bloom, and it makes for an excellent cut flower. Eyeconic® Lychee Lemonade
Lychee Lemonade is a new color edition to the Eyeconic® series. The color is ivory cream with a deep burgundy blotch finishing almost white with a pink blotch. The flower is semidouble. It is vigorous but with the smaller habit of a miniature. The blotch does not fade in the heat of summer. It would make a great container plant for the West.
Fired Up™
Fired Up™ has a very unique and striking color. The color can best be described as yellow and bright orange striped, finishing blood orange. The color does not fade in the heat or when finishing and it reblooms well. It has very good tolerance to rust and mildews. Fired Up™ is best recommended for the dry climates of the West.
Look-A-Likes® BougainFeelYa
BougainFeelYa is the newest edition to the continuously growing Look-A-Likes® series. This is a new series of roses with blooms that don’t look like traditional rose blossoms. The flowers of BougainFeelYa are dark red, non-fading and they are shaped similar to that of a Bougainvillea, but don’t be fooled, this is not a climbing rose! Flowers form continuously throughout the season and it is covered with hips in the fall. BougainFeelYa performs well on its own roots and is tolerant to a range of soil pH’s. It is also very resistant to rust and mildews and has a decent tolerance for black spot.
Mercury Rising™
Mercury Rising™ is a seedling of the popular Hybrid Tea rose, Gemini. It has similar coloration and a great exhibition type flower, but it is much more vigorous with glossier foliage. Mercury Rising™ would make a perfect flower for cutting.
Tahitian Treasure™
Tahitian Treasure™ represents a breakthrough in breeding as one of the first garden roses with all the great attributes of a landscape shrub rose –strong color, good habit, good flowering density, good rebloom, and very disease resistant. It is hardy to zone 5.
Achillea Moon Dust
This is a great new compact Yarrow for the garden. At half the size of its parent, ‘Moonshine’, it is a soft yellow color that will blend well with other colors in the garden. It makes for a perfect container plant since it grows about 1 and ½ times the height of the container. It also has attractive silver foliage.
Caryopteris Good As Gold
Caryopteris Good As Gold has an improved compact and dense habit; it is much more uniform than current gold varieties on the market. The internodes are short creating a denser flower show. A dome of golden yellow foliage will add interest to the garden in spring and summer. Then in the fall, the bluish-purple flowers contrast with the yellow foliage for a spectacular autumn finale.
Coreopsis Little Bird
This new coreopsis is a true dwarf. At half the size of ‘Zagreb’ in containers and in ground, it has very dense foliage and an even rounded habit. The bright yellow flowers are large in size, about 1” in diameter. Coreopsis Little Bird would be perfect for quarts or trade gallons. The flowers are larger than current dwarf offerings in the industry and exhibit a deep rich color like ‘Zagreb’.
Nepeta Top Hat
Nepeta Top Hat is a new Nepeta nervosa type with an exceptionally perfect round habit when growing in ground. It is more floriferous than ‘Blue Moon’, and its sturdy, plump blue spikes of blooms last for five solid weeks in containers. This would be a great June color item for the retailer.
Penstemon Paint Brush
Penstemon Paint Brush has excellent garden performance. It explodes with a plethora of lilac-pink blooms in early spring. It blooms earlier than ‘Husker’s Red’ with stronger bloom color and a much more dramatic show of flowers. The rich dark green to burgundy foliage compliments the blooms very well. The flowers are even more enhanced by the strong, dark red stems. This selection adds interest into late summer/fall as the foliage turns to a brilliant red color.

Penstemon Pink Rock Candy is part of a new Penstemon Rock Candy series. It is a compact selection with bright pink flowers and white throat. It exhibits strong basal branching, does not require vernalization to flower and reblooms well from a trim. Staying below 12” in height, it will fit in well at the front of a border, along walkways or in containers. It is sure to make a statement when in full bloom in early summer.

Perovskia Little Lace
Perovskia Little Lace is a great new and compact Perovskia. You won’t have to trim this one back by half mid season to keep its habit in check. Its foliage is much more finely textured compared to plain old P. atriplicifolia, adding another layer of interest. It maintains a very tidy habit even in containers.
Salvia 'Autumn Moon’
Three new Salvias join the Suncrest series in 2014. They are all compact, long blooming varieties. ‘Autumn Moon’ has bi-colored pale pink and yellow blooms with a very dark calyx which enhances the overall blooming effect.

Weigela Ruby Fusion™
At one half the size of ‘Rubidor’, Weigela Ruby Fusion™ is a significantly more compact shrub that would be a perfect plant for small gardens or tight spaces. It has remained compact in our Pennsylvania test field for five years. The foliage is a lovely golden color that resists burn in the mid-Atlantic region. The leaf margin also has an attractive wavy texture. In the spring, the full flush of red blooms contrasts well with the golden foliage.
