Position Summary
NovaFlora is looking for an individual with training in plant breeding. NovaFlora LLC is an ornamental plant breeding company devoted to the development of new varieties of flowering shrubs and perennials for the garden and landscape industry (www.novaflora.com). Our varieties are distributed by our parent company, The Conard-Pyle Co., a leading introducer of garden roses and shrubs in the United States. Our introductions include top selling varieties such as The Knock Out® rose, and Drift® roses (www.conard-pyle.com). Employee shall assist with the research and management of laboratory and field activities at NovaFlora with the goal of developing new plant varieties.

Develop and execute pollination and tissue culture techniques for the creation of novel hybrids |

Collect and summarize pollination, propagation, and hybrid selection data |

Assist with the coordination of seed collection, sowing and transplant activities |

Input and ensure data integrity in the plant-breeding database |

Execute field, laboratory, and greenhouse experiments |

Participate in planning breeding strategies and goals |

Adhere to and maintain breeding program as established by the breeder |

Prep tissue culture materials including media, order supplies |

Prepare technical reports, presentations, and standard operating protocols |

Assist in day-to-day operations of laboratory, greenhouses, and field plots |
Experience

MS or equivalent experience in Plant Breeding, Horticulture or related subject. |
