Bearberry

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (Bearberry)

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi 'Massachusetts'

This native creeping evergreen groundcover is suitable for planting in rock gardens, along banks and sandy slopes. It is salt and wind tolerant too. In spring to early summer clusters of nodding white flowers tinged with pink are produced followed by red berries that attract birds to the garden. Green foliage turns to a bronzy red in winter, creating 4 full seasons of interest.
